CHEMO CONNECT...
Sending care and comfort to chemotherapy patients.
CHEMO CONNECT is a program that provides support for people undergoing chemotherapy treatment. We are partnering with Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center to provide “Chemo Connect Care Kits” to patients, with supplies ranging from crossword puzzles and games to organic lip balm– all things carefully chosen to help pass the time during treatment or make it a little more comfortable.
Ultimately, we hope to expand the program to work with other area hospitals and treatment centers, in order to bring Care Kits and special cards to patients all around the Washington metropolitan area.
Care Kits include:
Stress balls, to alleviate effects from pain
Lip balm, fragrance-free, to help with damaged skin and nails
Antibacterial wipes, to help with exposure to germs
Fuzzy socks and hats, to keep patients warm
Puzzles and games, to make the time pass during treatment
Herbal tea, to manage nausea
How can you provide support?
Collect and donate care items, so that we can create more kits and grow our reach! We will accept any of the items above, to package in our kits.

Donate gift cards from either Amazon or Five Below, so that we can purchase more items for our Care Kits!
BACK STORY
So many of us have had a friend, relative, neighbor or co-worker undergo a cancer diagnosis. Our dear family friend Nadine and my aunt Nancy have fought breast cancer and have undergone lengthy chemotherapy treatments. Our friend Merva had no one to accompany her to chemotherapy, and had to sit through many appointments alone. They are the inspiration for this project as we would like to help as many cancer patients as possible “connect” with some small items that will help them get through their treatment a little easier.
Please consider making a donation so that we can reach as many cancer patients as possible with our Chemo Connect Care Kits.
